    The record of the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham:
  2. Abraham fathered Isaac, Isaac fathered Jacob, and Jacob fathered Judah and his brothers.
  3. So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; from David to the deportation to Babylon, fourteen generations; and from the deportation to Babylon to the Messiah, fourteen generations.
  4. and do not assume that you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father’; for I tell you that God is able, from these stones, to raise up children for Abraham.
  5. And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven;
  6. ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
  7. But regarding the fact that the dead rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?
  8. Just as He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and his descendants forever.”
  9. The oath which He swore to our father Abraham,
  10. Therefore produce fruits that are consistent with repentance, and do not start saying to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children for Abraham.
  11. the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the son of Terah, the son of Nahor,
  12. And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this restraint on the Sabbath day?”
  13. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out.

  17. But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony.
  18. But Abraham *said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’
  19. But he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!’
  20. And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham.
  21. But as for the fact that the dead are raised, even Moses revealed this in the passage about the burning bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
  22. They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’ ?”
  23. I know that you are Abraham’s descendants; yet you are seeking to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.
  24. They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus *said to them, “If you are Abraham’s children, do the deeds of Abraham.
  25. But as it is, you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do.
