ADAR ā’ där (אֲדָ֑ר). 1. The twelfth month in the Babylonian calendar used by postexilic Israel. When necessary because of the lunar year, a second intercalary Adar was used (Ezra 6:15; Esth 3:7, 13; 8:12; 9:1, 15-21. Occurs also in 1 and 2 Macc and in Add Esth).
