FAIR. A word which, in the KJV of the Bible, renders about a dozen Heb. and Gr. words, but never in the Bible has it the meaning of light in color; blond: as, fair hair. 1. Usually it has the meaning of beautiful (Gen 6:2; 12:11, 14 KJV fair, RSV beautiful; Esth 1:11; Job 42:15; Song of Solomon 1:15, 16 KJV fair, RSV beautiful; Acts 7:20 KJV fair, RSV beautiful). 2. Unspotted (Zech 3:5 KJV fair, ASV, clean). 3. Plausible, persuasive (Prov 7:21 KJV fair, RSV seductive; Gal 6:12 KJV fair, RSV good). 4. Good (of weather, Matt 16:2).
