Fountain Gate

FOUNTAIN GATE, the RSV rendering of the Heb. place name, ־שַׁ֣עַר הָעַ֔יִן (KJV), “gate of the fountain” (Neh 2:14; 3:15 and 12:37). It was one of the gates of the city of Jerusalem in the SE section of the wall restored after the return. It is thought to have been down below the Pool of Siloam along the vale of Kidron.
