GAASH gā’ ăsh (גָּֽעַשׁ, shake, quake). A name used to identify a mountain and a wadi of the same vicinity. The mountain locates the burial site of Joshua, in the hill country of Ephraim (Josh 24:30; Judg 2:9). The wadi is referred to as the area from which Hiddai (Hurai), one of David’s mighty men, came (2 Sam 23:30; 1 Chron 11:32). Probable location is about twenty m. SW of Shechem.
