GADDI găd’ ī (גַּדִּ֖י, LXX Γαδδί, may mean fortune) KJV Apoc. Caddis, kăd’ĭs (1 Macc 2:2).

1. The son of Susi of the tribe of Manasseh, one of the twelve spies whom Moses sent from the wilderness of Paran to spy out the land of Canaan (Num 13:11).

2. A name of John (KJV Johanan) the son of Mattathias and brother of Judas Maccabeus, all of whom were leading figures in the Jewish struggle for independence (1 Macc 2:2).
