GEDEROTHAIM gĭ dĭr’ ə thā’ ĭm (גְּדֵרֹתָ֑יִם, two sheep pens). Last of fourteen names in Joshua 15:33-36 (see Gederah). However, the LXX treats “Gederothaim” as a noun and translates it as “[Gederah] and her sheep pens” (Gr. καί αἱ ἐπαύλεις αὐτῆς). This requires emending the last “m” of Gederothaim to “h.” The MT contains fourteen names without Gederothaim, but the differences between the MT and the LXX list could raise questions about other names also. The identification of the site, and even if it is a genuine place name, remains uncertain.
