GINNETHO, GINNETHOI, GINNETHON gĭn’-ə thō, gĭn’ ə thoi, gĭn’ ə thŏn (גִנְּתֹ֖וי, גִנְּתֹ֥ון, meaning uncertain, perhaps gardener; LXX Γαναθων). The two forms are identical in Heb. except for the length of the last letter; Ginnethon is attested in Ugaritic. The Biblical Ginnethon was a priest and founder of an important family in the days of Zerubbabel and of the chief priests Jeshua (Neh 12:4, 7) and Joiakim (12:16). He was one of the signers of the solemn covenant detailed in Nehemiah 9 and 10 (10:6).
