GOODMAN (אִישׁ֒, H408, man, husband, οἰκοδεσπότης, G3867, master of the house). KJV rendering in Proverbs 7:19 (RSV “husband”) and in Matthew 24:43; Mark 14:14 and elsewhere. In Matthew 13:27 and 20:1 the more modern “householder” appears, which is the consistent RSV rendering. See Householder.
