Guest Room

GUEST ROOM (κατάλυμα, G2906). KJV and ASV GUEST CHAMBER. The room in which Jesus and His disciples ate the Passover on the eve of the crucifixion (Mark 14:14; Luke 22:11). The same Gr. word is tr. “inn” in Luke 2:7. It was a room that provided facilities for temporary lodging or for banqueting. This Gr. word is used in the LXX for the place where Samuel and Saul feasted together (1 Sam 9:22, Heb. לִשְׁכָּה, H4384, room, or hall; ASV guest chamber; RSV hall; KJV parlor).
