Hachilah

HACHILAH hə kī’ lə, hăk’ ĭ lə (חֲכִילָ֔ה). A hill in the wilderness of Judah where David took refuge when Saul pursued him (1 Sam 23:19; 26:1). Saul pitched his camp on it. It is described as being near the wilderness of Ziph, which is modern Tell ez-Zif to the S of Hebron. The site has not been identified.
