HAZOR-HADATTAH hā’ zôr hə dăt’ ə (חָצֹ֤ור׃׀ חֲדַתָּה׃֙, New Hazor). One of the towns listed in the inheritance of the tribe of Judah (Josh 15:25). The Aram. “Hadattah” seems out of place and indicates a settlement from Hazor. KJV trs. the term as two separate cities, Hazor and Hadattah. Although the exact location is uncertain, it is in the Negev (v. 21), prob. between the Dead Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba. The LXX omits the listing entirely.
