HEADBAND. 1. In 1 Kings 20:38, 41, where KJV has “ashes,” the ASV has “headband” and the RSV has “bandage.” Nothing more about it is known than that it covered the wearer’s head.

2. In Isaiah 3:18, where the KJV and the ASV have “cauls,” the RSV has “headbands.”

3. In Isaiah 3:20, where the KJV has “headbands,” the ASV and the RSV, more correctly, have “sashes.”
