KISLEV kĭz’ lĕv (כִּסְלֵו, H4075). The ninth month in in the Heb. calendar, corresponding to December. The word is found in Nehemiah 1:1 and Zechariah 7:1 (ASV, RSV CHISLEV, KJV CHISLEU), and in the Apoc., 1 Maccabees 1:54; 4:59; 2 Maccabees 1:9, 18; 10:5 (KJV CASLEU).
