RAZIS rā’ zĭs (̔Ραζείς). “An elder of Jerusalem,” highly regarded by the Jews for his exemplary life, who was accused before the Syrian general Nicanor as an opponent of Hellenism, and committed suicide in a gory manner rather than allow himself to be arrested (2 Macc 14:37-46).
