Reaiah

REAIAH rĕ ă’ yə (רְאָיָ֤ה; LXX ̔Ραιά, plus variations, meaning God has seen). 1. A descendant of Judah; his father was Shobal and his son was Jahath (1 Chron 4:2). Perhaps he is also referred to in 1 Chronicles 2:52, where Shobal is the father of Haroeh.

2. A descendant of Reuben; his father was Micah and his son was Baal (1 Chron 5:5).

3. Head of a family of Temple servants who returned with Zerubbabel from exile in Babylon (Ezra 2:47 and Neh 7:50; cf. 1 Esd 5:31 where a similar genealogy has Jairus in the position occupied by Reaiah in Ezra 2:47 and Neh 7:50).
