Ruhamah

RUHAMAH rōō hā’ mə (רֻחָ֑מָה, pitied). A symbolic name given to Israel to indicate the return of God’s mercy (Hos 2:1). There is a play on words involved, for the second child of Gomer, Hosea’s wife, was called Loruhamah, “Not pitied” (Hos 1:6, 8) to indicate that God had turned His back on Israel because of her apostasy.
