13:10–12 The image of the gap in the wall (v. 5) may have prompted this further description of the actions of the false prophets. Their false visions and lying divinations were a wall of shoddy workmanship—when plastered over or whitewashed (v. 10 text note), it may have looked substantial, but it could not withstand the weather, much less the day of the Lord when God Himself would bring judgment on the city.
