29:10 Migdol to Syene. That is, from north to south (see also 30:6). Migdol was in northern Egypt, a site on the route of the Exodus (Ex. 14:2; Num. 33:7; Jer. 44:1; 46:14). Syene was in southern Egypt at the first cataract on the Nile. It was the terminal point for deep water navigation of the Nile and represented Egypt’s southern frontier.
