a writing case. This man is a scribe, apparently charged with keeping the heavenly record (Ex. 32:32, 33; Ps. 69:28; 139:16; Dan. 12:1; Phil. 4:3; Rev. 3:5; 13:8; 17:8; 20:12, 15; 21:27). Ezekiel’s vision is a reminder that idolaters have no place in the city of God (1 Cor. 5:11; 6:9; Eph. 5:5; Rev. 21:8; 22:15).
