10:2 dismayed. Terror characterizes the worship of false gods. Worship of heavenly bodies (8:2 and note) carries with it special fears because of unusual phenomena. A biblical understanding of creation takes away these fears, accepting such phenomena as God’s created order (Gen. 1; Is. 40:26).
