15:1 Moses and Samuel. God calls to mind two great intercessors for Israel (Ex. 32:11–14; 1 Sam. 12:23). Note also Elijah in 1 Kin. 17:1. Prayer for the people is again prohibited (7:16; 11:14), and the prayer just offered (vv. 19–22) is specifically rejected.
