7:12 Shiloh . . . my name. Shiloh was a central place of worship for all Israel before David made Jerusalem the capital (Josh. 18:1; 1 Sam. 1:9). Now that Shiloh was no more (probably destroyed by the Philistines), it was a good proof of Jeremiah’s point that even a place where the Lord had made His name to dwell was not immune to His judgment.
