2:18–3:21 The Lord, the God of the covenant, promises to renew the land and His people, as they respond in repentance to the crises of 1:2–2:17. The redemptive renewal of God’s people will someday lead to the final devastation of Zion’s enemies and the final exaltation of Zion itself.
