20:29 Blessed are those who have not seen. While commending Thomas’s faith, Jesus blesses those who will come to believe through the witness of the disciples (17:20; cf. 1 Pet. 1:8, 9). This blessing introduces the reason for the writing of the Gospel (vv. 30, 31).
