19:14 Let the little children come. The disciples viewed children as a distraction from the work of Jesus, but He welcomes them as subjects of the kingdom and blesses them. Since entrance into the kingdom is by God’s grace and not human achievement, dependent little ones have a special title to covenant blessing (18:1–9). See “Infant Baptism” at Gen. 17:11.
