12:3 On that day. The day of the Lord (14:1). This phrase occurs numerous times in chs. 12–14, and indicates the fullness of God’s judgment of the world and the final salvation of His people.

Jerusalem a heavy stone. The earthly Jerusalem of Zechariah’s day was a type of the church, the heavenly Jerusalem in which we now live by faith (Heb. 12:22–24).
