Akhish said to his servants, “Here, you see that the man is meshugga; why bring him to me?
I have enough crazy people without your bringing another one here. Keep him away from my palace!”

until finally King Achish said to his men, “Must you bring me a madman? We already have enough of them around here! Should such a fellow as this be my guest?”
When David realized that he had been recognized, he panicked, fearing the worst from Achish, king of Gath. So right there, while they were looking at him, he pretended to go crazy, pounding his head on the city gate and foaming at the mouth, spit dripping from his beard. Achish took one look at him and said to his servants, “Can’t you see he’s crazy? Why did you let him in here? Don’t you think I have enough crazy people to put up with as it is without adding another? Get him out of here!”
Am I one who lacks lunatics, that you brought this one to behave as a madman in my presence? Will this man come into my house?”
Do I have such a shortage of lunatics that you bring this man so that he can show me he is insane? Does this man have to come into my house?”
Finally Achish said to his servants: “You see the man is mad. Why did you bring him to me?
Do I lack insane people, that you have brought this one to behave like an insane person in my presence? Shall this one come into my house?”

Am I so in need of people who are out of their mind that you brought me this man who is acting so strange? Must this man come into my house?”
I have enough madmen. I don’t need you to bring him here to act like this in front of me! Don’t let him in my house!”

whether mad men fail to us? why have ye brought in him, that he should be mad, while I am present? Deliver ye him from hence, lest he enter into mine house. (do we not have enough mad men here already? why have ye brought him in, so that he can be deranged right in front of me! Get ye him away from here, lest he enter into my house, and touch things!)
A lack of madmen [have] I, that ye have brought in this one to act as a madman by me! doth this one come in unto my house?'
