And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning pertained to them.

for they stayed round about the house of God during the night, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning [pertained] to them.
And they abode in their watches round about the temple of the Lord: that when it was time, they might open the gates in the morning.
They stayed up all night guarding God’s Temple, and they had the job of opening God’s Temple every morning.
They stayed at their places around God's house during each night. It was their work to keep it safe. Each morning they would use their key to open the gates.
They were stationed around God’s house through the night, because that duty was assigned to them, and their duty was to open it every morning.
And they lodged around the house of God, for on them lay the duty of watching, and they had charge of opening it every morning.

Because of their important positions, they lived near the Tabernacle, and they opened the gates each morning.
Being Levites, they were responsible for the security of all supplies and valuables in the house of God. They kept watch all through the night and had the key to open the doors each morning. Some were in charge of the articles used in The Temple worship—they counted them both when they brought them in and when they took them out. Others were in charge of supplies in the sanctuary—flour, wine, oil, incense, and spices. And some of the priests were assigned to mixing the oils for the perfume. The Levite Mattithiah, the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was responsible for baking the bread for the services of worship. Some of the brothers, sons of the Kohathites, were assigned to preparing the bread set out on the table each Sabbath.
They spent the night around the house of God, for the watch was entrusted to them, and they were responsible for opening it every morning.

Because guarding was their primary task, they spent their nights watching the temple and opened it each morning.
They stayed around God’s house, because that duty was on them; and to their duty was its opening morning by morning.
Also they dwelled in their keepings by the compass of the temple of the Lord, that when time were, they should open the gates early. (And they lived in their residences about the Temple of the Lord, so that at the proper time, they could open the gates every morning.)
and round about the house of God they lodge, for on them [is] the watch, and they [are] over the opening, even morning by morning.
