1 Corinthians 7:8
Print
I say therefore to the unmarried and widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I.
But I say to the unmarried and to widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
But I say to the unmarried and to the widows, [that as a practical matter] it is good if they remain [single and entirely devoted to the Lord] as I am.
But to the unmarried people and to the widows, I declare that it is well (good, advantageous, expedient, and wholesome) for them to remain [single] even as I do.
I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
I say to the unmarried and to widows: It is good for them if they remain as I am.
I’m telling those who are single and widows that it’s good for them to stay single like me.
Now to the single people and the widows I say that it is fine if they remain unmarried like me;
My advice for the unmarried and for widows is that it is acceptable for them to remain single, just as I am.
But I say to the unmarried and to the widows, It is good for them that they remain even as I.
And I say to the unmarried and the widows— it is good for them if they remain as I also am.
But I say to the unmarried, and to the widows: It is good for them if they so continue, even as I.
Now for those who are not married and for the widows I say this: It is good for you to stay single like me.
I will say this to those of you who have not married yet, and to those who are widows. It is better for you to remain alone. That is how I myself live.
I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them if they remain as I am.
To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single, as I am.
To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single as I am.
Now for those who are not married and for the widows I say this: It is good for them to stay unmarried as I am.
Therefore I say unto the unmarried, and unto the widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I do.
I say to those who are not married, especially to widows: It is good for you to stay single like me.
Now, to the unmarried and to the widows I say that it would be better for you to continue to live alone as I do.
I say to the unmarried and to widows: It is good for them if they remain as I am.
Now for those who are not married and for the widows I say this: It is good for them to stay single as I am.
I say to those who are unmarried, especially to widows: It is good for them to remain like me.
I give the advice above more as a concession than as a command. I wish that all men were like myself, but I realise that everyone has his own particular gift from God, some one thing and some another. Yet to those who are unmarried or widowed, I say definitely that it is a good thing to remain unattached, as I am. But if they find they have not the gift of self-control in such matters, by all means let them get married. I think it is far better for them to be married than to be tortured by unsatisfied desire.
I say, therefore, to the unmarried men and widowers, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I.
I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them if they remain even as I.
Now I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain as I am.
So I say to those who aren’t married and to widows—better to stay unmarried if you can, just as I am.
I do, though, tell the unmarried and widows that singleness might well be the best thing for them, as it has been for me. But if they can’t manage their desires and emotions, they should by all means go ahead and get married. The difficulties of marriage are preferable by far to a sexually tortured life as a single.
I say to the unmarried and widows that it is good for them if they live even as I am.
Now to the unmarried and to the widows I say that it is good for them if they remain single, as I am.
I say to those who are not married, especially to widows: It is good for you to stay single like me.
Now to the unmarried and to widows I say: it is a good thing for them to remain as they are, as I do,
But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them if they remain even as I.
But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them if they remain even as I.
To the unmarried and to widows, I say that it is a good thing for them to remain as they are, as I do.
Now for those who are not married and for the widows I say this: It is good for them to stay unmarried as I am.
To the unmarried and widows I say that it is best for them to remain as I am.
I speak now to those who are not married. I also speak to widows. It is good for you to stay single like me.
Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do.
Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: it is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do.
But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am;
This is what I say to those who are not married and to women whose husbands have died. It is good if you do not get married. I am not married.
So I say to those who aren’t married and to widows—it’s better to stay unmarried, just as I am.
I say to the unmarried men and widows that it is good for them if they remain just as I do.
To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is well for them to remain unmarried as I am.
To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is well for them to remain unmarried as I am.
To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is well for them to remain unmarried as I am.
To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain unmarried as I am.
To unmarried people, and to widows, I have this to say: it’s perfectly all right for you to remain like me.
But, I say to the bochrim and the almanot (widows), it is beneficial for them if they remain as I am;
Therefore I say to the unmarried, and to the widows, it is good for them if they remain just as I.
To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is well for them to remain single as I do.
To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is well for them to remain single as I do.
But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them to remain as I am.
To those who are unmarried or widowed, here’s my advice: it is a good thing to stay single as I do.
But I say to the unmarried and to widows, it is good for them if they remain even as I am.
Here is what I say to those who are not married and to those whose husbands are dead. It is good for them to stay the way I am.
But I say to them, that be not wedded, and to widows [and widows], it is good to them, if they dwell so as I.
And I say to the unmarried and to the widows: it is good for them if they may remain even as I [am];
