A nine-inch rim surrounded the tip of each stand, banded with lugs. All was cast as one unit with the stand.
There was a handle at the four corners of each washstand, the handles cast in one piece with the stand. At the top of the washstand there was a ring about nine inches deep. The uprights and handles were cast with the stand. Everything and every available surface was engraved with cherubim, lions, and palm trees, bordered by arabesques. The washstands were identical, all cast in the same mold.
On the top of the stand, there was a round band half a cubit high, and on the top of the stand its stays and its panels were of one piece with it.
The top of each stand had a round, nine-inch-high band. Above the stand were supports which were part of the panels.
At the top of the stand there was a raised collar half a cubit high, and the handles and panels on top of the stand formed part of it.

On top of the base there was a band half a cubit high encircling it—its braces and its borders were part of it.
There was a circular form 18 inches high above the base that the basin would rest in. It remained above the base, connected to the perimeter.
In the top of the base there was a round band half a cubit high; and on the top of the base its supports and its panels were the same.
And in the highness of the foundament was a roundness, of one cubit and an half, so made craftily, that the washing vessel might be set above, having his portrayings, and diverse gravings of itself. (And at the top of the foundation was a circular band, one and a half cubits in height, skillfully made, so that the washing vessel could be put above, having portrayings, and diverse engravings, upon it.)
And in the top of the base [is] the half of a cubit in the height all round about; and on the top of the base its spokes and its borders [are] of the same.
