Simon saw that his son John had become a man, and so he made him commander of all the forces. And John lived at Gazara.
And he fortified the mountain of the temple that was near the castle, and he dwelt there himself, and they that were with him.
Simon's son John was now a grown man, so Simon made him commander of the whole army, and John set up headquarters at Gezer.
Seeing that his son John was now a grown man, Simon made him commander of all his soldiers, and he dwelt in Gazara.
And since his son John had now reached manhood, he appointed him as commander of all the forces, with his residence in Gazara.
