Goliath the Philistine started to attack David. He slowly walked closer and closer toward David, but David ran out to meet Goliath.
The Philistine soldier started to move nearer to David to attack him. David ran forward quickly to fight against him.
Then, when the Philistine started advancing to attack David, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine.
When the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine.

As Goliath approached, David ran out to meet him and, reaching into his shepherd’s bag, took out a stone, hurled it from his sling, and hit the Philistine in the forehead. The stone sank in, and the man fell on his face to the ground.
That roused the Philistine, and he started toward David. David took off from the front line, running toward the Philistine. David reached into his pocket for a stone, slung it, and hit the Philistine hard in the forehead, embedding the stone deeply. The Philistine crashed, facedown in the dirt.
When the Philistine arose and came near to meet David, David hurried and ran toward the battle line to meet the Philistine.
