And he wrought evil in the sight of the Lord, but not like his father and like his mother; for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, but not like his father, and like his mother; for he put away the pillar of Baal that his father had made.

and disobeyed the Lord by doing wrong. He tore down the stone image his father had made to honor Baal, and so he wasn't as sinful as his parents.
And he wrought evil in the sight of Jehovah, but not like his father, and like his mother; and he took away the column of Baal that his father had made.
And he did evil before the Lord, but not like his father and his mother: for he took away the statues of Baal, which his father had made.
He did what the Lord said was wrong. But he was not like his father and mother, because he removed the pillar that his father had made for worshiping Baal.
He did things that the Lord said were evil. But he was not as bad as his father and his mother had been. Jehoram did throw away the stone pillar where people worshipped Baal. His father Ahab had made that pillar.
He did evil in the eyes of the Lord but not as his father and mother had done. He removed the sacred memorial stones for Baal which his father had made,

He sinned against the Lord, but he was not as bad as his father or his mother Jezebel; he pulled down the image his father had made for the worship of Baal.

Joram did what the Lord said was wrong. But he was not like his father and mother. He removed the stone pillars his father had made for Baal.
practicing evil in the Lord’s presence, only not to the extent that his mother and father had done—he forced abolition of the sacred pillar to Baal that his father had crafted.

He was a very evil man, but not as wicked as his father and mother had been, for he at least tore down the pillar to Baal that his father had made.
Joram son of Ahab began his rule over Israel in Samaria in the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah. He was king for twelve years. In God’s sight he was a bad king. But he wasn’t as bad as his father and mother—to his credit he destroyed the obscene Baal stone that his father had made. But he hung on to the sinful practices of Jeroboam son of Nebat, the ones that had corrupted Israel for so long. He wasn’t about to give them up.
He did evil in the sight of the Lord, but not like his father and mother, for he removed the pillar of Baal that his father had made.

The Eternal saw that he did wicked things, but not to the same degree his parents did. He tore down and had nothing to do with the pillar honoring Baal that his father had crafted.
