2 Thessalonians 3:11
Print
For we hear that there are some among you who walk disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
For we hear of some that walk among you disorderly, that work not at all, but are busybodies.
Indeed, we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined and inappropriate life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies [meddling in other people’s business].
Indeed, we hear that some among you are disorderly [that they are passing their lives in idleness, neglectful of duty], being busy with other people’s affairs instead of their own and doing no work.
For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
For we hear that there are some among you who are idle. They are not busy but busybodies.
We hear that some of you are living an undisciplined life. They aren’t working, but they are meddling in other people’s business.
We hear that some of you are leading a life of idleness — not busy working, just busybodies!
Now we learn that some of you just loaf around and won't do any work, except the work of a busybody.
For we hear that [there are] some walking among you disorderly, not working at all, but busybodies.
For we are hearing of some among you walking disorderly, not working at all, but being-busybodies.
For we have heard there are some among you who walk disorderly, working not at all, but curiously meddling.
We hear that some people in your group refuse to work. They are doing nothing except being busy in the lives of others.
We say this because someone has told us news about you. They have told us that some people among you are living in a lazy way. Those people do not work at their own jobs. Instead, they cause trouble to other people who are working.
Indeed, we hear that some among you are idle, not busy working, but being busybodies.
For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies.
For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies.
[L For; or Yet] We hear that some people in your group ·refuse to work [or are behaving irresponsibly; L are living/walking in idleness/disorder]. They do nothing but ·busy themselves [meddle; interfere] in other people’s lives.
For we hear, that there are some which walk among you inordinately, and work not at all, but are busybodies.
We hear that some of you are not living disciplined lives. You’re not working, so you go around interfering in other people’s lives.
We say this because we hear that there are some people among you who live lazy lives and who do nothing except meddle in other people's business.
For we hear that there are some among you who walk irresponsibly, not working at all, but interfering with the work of others.
We hear that some people in your group refuse to work. They do nothing. And they busy themselves in other people’s lives.
We hear that some of you are living in idleness. You are not busy working—you are busy interfering in other people’s lives!
One further order we must give you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ: don’t associate with the brother whose life is undisciplined, and who despises the teaching we gave him. You know well that we ourselves are your examples here, and that our lives among you were never undisciplined. We did not eat anyone’s food without paying for it. In fact we toiled and laboured night and day to avoid being the slightest expense to any of you. This was not because we had no right to ask our necessities of you, but because we wanted to set you an example. When we were actually with you we gave you this principle to work on: “If a man will not work, he shall not eat.” Now we hear that you have some among you living quite undisciplined lives, never doing a stroke of work, and busy only in other people’s affairs. Our order to such men, indeed our appeal by the Lord Jesus Christ, is to settle down to work and eat the food they have earned themselves.
For we hear that there are some who walk among you out of order, not working at all, but are busybodies.
For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
For we hear that some among you are walking in an unruly manner, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies.
For we hear that some among you are living irresponsibly, working at nothing, but being busybodies.
Yet we hear that some of you are living in laziness, refusing to work, and wasting your time in gossiping.
Don’t you remember the rule we had when we lived with you? “If you don’t work, you don’t eat.” And now we’re getting reports that a bunch of lazy good-for-nothings are taking advantage of you. This must not be tolerated. We command them to get to work immediately—no excuses, no arguments—and earn their own keep. Friends, don’t slack off in doing your duty.
For we hear that there are some among you who live in idleness, mere busybodies, not working at all.
For we hear that some among you are conducting themselves in a disorderly manner, doing nothing themselves, but meddling in the affairs of others.
We hear that some of you are not living disciplined lives. You’re not working, so you go around interfering in other people’s lives.
We hear that some are conducting themselves among you in a disorderly way, by not keeping busy but minding the business of others.
For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies.
For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies.
Now we have been told that some among you are living a life of idleness, not working but acting as busybodies.
We hear that some people in your group refuse to work. They do nothing but busy themselves in other people’s lives.
For we hear that some among you are living an undisciplined life, not doing their own work but meddling in the work of others.
We hear that some people among you don’t want to work and are making trouble. They aren’t really busy. Instead, they are bothering others.
We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies.
We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies.
For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies.
We hear that some are not working. But they are spending their time trying to see what others are doing.
Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and meddling in other people’s business.
We have heard that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly way, and do not work at all, but are busybodies.
For we hear that some of you are living in idleness, mere busybodies, not doing any work.
For we hear that some of you are living in idleness, mere busybodies, not doing any work.
For we hear that some of you are living in idleness, mere busybodies, not doing any work.
For we hear that some of you are living irresponsibly, mere busybodies, not doing any work.
You see, we hear that there are some among you who are stepping out of line, behaving in an unruly fashion, not being busy with real work, but just busybodies.
For we hear that some among you are leading the life of a batlan (loafer), not being busy with a parnasah, but being busybodies with hitarevut (meddlesomeness).
For we hear that there are some who walk among you inordinately and do not work at all, but are busybodies.
For we hear that some of you are living in idleness, mere busybodies, not doing any work.
For we hear that some of you are living in idleness, mere busybodies, not doing any work.
For we hear that some among you are behaving irresponsibly—not busy, but busybodies.
You see, we are hearing that some folks in the community are out of step with our teaching; they are idle, not working, but really busy doing nothing—and yet still expect to be fed!
For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who don’t work at all, but are busybodies.
We hear that some of you are lazy. You do not work, but you trouble other people.
For we have heard that some among you go unrestfully, and nothing work, but do curiously.
for we hear of certain walking among you disorderly, nothing working, but over working,
