2 Timothy 2:5
Print
And if also a man strive for masteries, yet he is not crowned unless he strive lawfully.
And if also a man contend in the games, he is not crowned, except he have contended lawfully.
And if anyone competes as an athlete [in competitive games], he is not crowned [with the wreath of victory] unless he competes according to the rules.
And if anyone enters competitive games, he is not crowned unless he competes lawfully (fairly, according to the rules laid down).
And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
Also, if anyone competes as an athlete, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
Also in the same way, athletes don’t win unless they follow the rules.
Also an athlete can’t win a contest unless he competes according to the rules.
No one wins an athletic contest without obeying the rules.
And if also any one contend [in the games], he is not crowned unless he contend lawfully.
And also if one competes [in an athletic contest], he is not crowned unless he competes lawfully.
For he also that striveth for the mastery, is not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
Athletes in a race must obey all the rules to win.
It is the same with an athlete who runs a race. He cannot win the race unless he obeys the rules.
Also, if someone competes as an athlete, he does not receive a crown unless he competes according to the rules.
An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
Also an athlete who takes part in a contest must ·obey all [play by] the rules in order to ·win [L be crowned; C with the victor’s wreath].
And if any man also strive for a mastery, he is not crowned, except he strive as he ought to do.
Whoever enters an athletic competition wins the prize only when playing by the rules.
An athlete who runs in a race cannot win the prize unless he obeys the rules.
Also, if anyone competes as an athlete, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
If an athlete is running a race, he must obey all the rules in order to win.
Moreover, no one who is an athlete wins a prize unless he competes according to the rules.
Put up with your share of hardship as a loyal soldier in Christ’s army. Remember: 1) That no soldier on active service gets himself entangled in business, or he will not please his commanding officer. 2) A man who enters an athletic contest wins no prize unless he keeps the rules laid down. 3) Only the man who works on the land has the right to the first share of its produce. Consider these three illustrations of mine and the Lord will help you to understand all that I mean.
And also if anyone contends in public contest, he is not crowned, except he contends legitimately.
And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
And also if anyone competes as an athlete, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
And also if anyone competes he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
Follow the Lord’s rules for doing his work, just as an athlete either follows the rules or is disqualified and wins no prize.
So, my son, throw yourself into this work for Christ. Pass on what you heard from me—the whole congregation saying Amen!—to reliable leaders who are competent to teach others. When the going gets rough, take it on the chin with the rest of us, the way Jesus did. A soldier on duty doesn’t get caught up in making deals at the marketplace. He concentrates on carrying out orders. An athlete who refuses to play by the rules will never get anywhere. It’s the diligent farmer who gets the produce. Think it over. God will make it all plain.
Anyone who competes as an athlete is not rewarded without competing legally.
Likewise, if · anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive a wreath unless he competes lawfully.
Whoever enters an athletic competition wins the prize only when playing by the rules.
Similarly, an athlete cannot receive the winner’s crown except by competing according to the rules.
And if someone likewise competes as an athlete, he is not crowned as victor unless he competes according to the rules.
Also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules.
In a similar vein, no athlete can receive the winner’s crown unless he has competed according to the rules.
Also an athlete who takes part in a contest must obey all the rules in order to win.
Also, if anyone competes as an athlete, he will not be crowned as the winner unless he competes according to the rules.
It is the same for anyone who takes part in a sport. They don’t receive the winner’s crown unless they play by the rules.
Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.
Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.
And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
Anyone who runs in a race must follow the rules to get the crown.
And athletes cannot win the prize unless they follow the rules.
And though a man strive to win a competition, yet he is not crowned unless he strives lawfully.
And in the case of an athlete, no one is crowned without competing according to the rules.
And in the case of an athlete, no one is crowned without competing according to the rules.
And in the case of an athlete, no one is crowned without competing according to the rules.
And in the case of an athlete, no one is crowned without competing according to the rules.
If you take part in athletic events, you don’t win the crown unless you compete according to the rules.
And no participant in an athletic tacharut (competition) is crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
And also, if anyone competes as an athlete, he is not crowned unless he has competed lawfully.
An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
Also, if anyone competes as an athlete, he is not crowned victorious unless he competes according to the rules.
Look at it another way: if someone competes as an athlete, he won’t win the race and be crowned with the wreath if he breaks the rules.
Also, if anyone competes in athletics, he isn’t crowned unless he has competed by the rules.
A man runs a race. But he does not win if he does not obey the rules.
For he that fighteth in a battle [For why and he that striveth in a battle], shall not be crowned, but he fight lawfully.
and if also any one may strive, he is not crowned, except he may strive lawfully;
