2 Corinthians 10:18
Print
For it is not he that commendeth himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
For it is not he who commends and praises himself who is approved [by God], but it is the one whom the Lord commends and praises.
For [it is] not [the man] who praises and commends himself who is approved and accepted, but [it is the person] whom the Lord accredits and commends.
For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
For it is not the one commending himself who is approved, but the one the Lord commends.
It isn’t the person who promotes himself or herself who is approved but the person whom the Lord commends.
because it is not the one who recommends himself who is worthy of approval, but the one whom the Lord recommends.
You may brag about yourself, but the only approval that counts is the Lord's approval.
For not *he* that commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
For not that one commending himself is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
For not he who commendeth himself, is approved, but he, whom God commendeth.
What people say about themselves means nothing. What counts is whether the Lord says they have done well.
Who is really good? It is not the person who praises himself. It is the person that the Lord says is a good person.
To be sure, it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
[L For] It is not those who ·say they are good [L commend/promote themselves; v. 12] who are ·accepted [approved] but those the Lord ·thinks are good [commends].
For he that praiseth himself, is not allowed, but he whom the Lord praiseth.
It isn’t the person who makes his own recommendation who receives approval, but the person whom the Lord recommends.
For it is when the Lord thinks well of us that we are really approved, and not when we think well of ourselves.
For it is not the one commending himself who is approved, but the one the Lord commends.
It is not the one who says he is good who is accepted but the one that the Lord thinks is good.
It is not the person who commends himself who is approved, but the person whom the Lord commends.
It is not self-commendation that matters, it is winning the approval of God.
For it is not he that commends himself that is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
For it is not the one who commends himself that is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
For it is not the one commending himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
When someone boasts about himself and how well he has done, it doesn’t count for much. But when the Lord commends him, that’s different!
We’re not barging in on the rightful work of others, interfering with their ministries, demanding a place in the sun with them. What we’re hoping for is that as your lives grow in faith, you’ll play a part within our expanding work. And we’ll all still be within the limits God sets as we proclaim the Message in countries beyond Corinth. But we have no intention of moving in on what others have done and taking credit for it. “If you want to claim credit, claim it for God.” What you say about yourself means nothing in God’s work. It’s what God says about you that makes the difference.
For it is not he who commends himself who is approved, but he whom the Lord commends.
For it is not the one who recommends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord recommends.
It isn’t the person who makes his own recommendation who receives approval, but the person whom the Lord recommends.
For it is not the one who recommends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord recommends.
For it is not the one who commends himself that is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
For it is not he who commends himself that is approved, but he whom the Lord commends.
For it is not the one who commends himself who is really approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
It is not those who say they are good who are accepted but those the Lord thinks are good.
For it is not the person who commends himself who is approved, but the person the Lord commends.
Those who praise themselves are not accepted. Those the Lord praises are accepted.
For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
It is not what a man thinks and says of himself that is important. It is what God thinks of him.
When people commend themselves, it doesn’t count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them.
For he who praises himself is not accepted, but he whom the Lord praises.
For it is not those who commend themselves that are approved, but those whom the Lord commends.
For it is not those who commend themselves that are approved, but those whom the Lord commends.
For it is not those who commend themselves that are approved, but those whom the Lord commends.
For it is not those who commend themselves that are approved but those whom the Lord commends.
Who is it, after all, who gains approval? It isn’t the person who commends himself. It’s the person whom the Lord commends.
For it is not the one commending himself that has the haskama (approval), but it is the one to whom [Moshiach] Adoneinu gives the haskama. [1C 4:4 5]
For the one who praises himself is not approved, but the one whom the Lord praises.
For it is not the man who commends himself that is accepted, but the man whom the Lord commends.
For it is not the man who commends himself that is accepted, but the man whom the Lord commends.
For it Is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
Now let’s be clear: it’s not the one who commends himself who is approved; it’s the one whom the Lord commends.
For it isn’t he who commends himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
A man who praises himself is not a man who is good. The man who is really good is the man whom the Lord praises.
For not he that commendeth himself is approved [is proved], but whom God commendeth.
for not he who is commending himself is approved, but he whom the Lord doth commend.
