While looking at the king he said, “You, though human, have power among human beings and do what you want. But don’t think that God has abandoned our people.
Said: Whereas thou hast power among men, though thou art corruptible, thou dost what thou wilt: but think not that our nation is forsaken by God.
he looked the king squarely in the eye and said, You have the power to do whatever you want with us, even though you also are mortal. But do not think that God has abandoned our people.
Looking at the king, he said: “Mortal though you are, you have power over human beings, so you do what you please. But do not think that our nation is forsaken by God.
Directing his gaze at the king, he said: “Even though you yourself are mortal, you have authority over other mortals, and thus you can do as you please. However, do not think that God has abandoned our nation.
But he looked at the king, and said, ‘Because you have authority among mortals, though you also are mortal, you do what you please. But do not think that God has forsaken our people.
