Galatians 3:5
Print
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit and worketh miracles among you, doeth He it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
He therefore that supplieth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
So then, does He who supplies you with His [marvelous Holy] Spirit and works miracles among you, do it as a result of the works of the Law [which you perform], or because you [believe confidently in the message which you] heard with faith?
Then does He Who supplies you with His marvelous [Holy] Spirit and works powerfully and miraculously among you do so on [the grounds of your doing] what the Law demands, or because of your believing in and adhering to and trusting in and relying on the message that you heard?
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
So then, does God give you the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law? Or is it by believing what you heard—
So does the one providing you with the Spirit and working miracles among you do this by you doing the works of the Law or by you believing what you heard?
What about God, who supplies you with the Spirit and works miracles among you — does he do it because of your legalistic observance of Torah commands or because you trust in what you heard and are faithful to it?
God gives you his Spirit and works miracles in you. But does he do this because you obey the Law of Moses or because you have heard about Christ and have faith in him?
He therefore who ministers to you the Spirit, and works miracles among you, [is it] on the principle of works of law, or of [the] report of faith?
Did then the One supplying you the Spirit and working miracles among you do it because-of  works of the Law, or because-of the hearing of faith?
He therefore who giveth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you; doth he do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of the faith?
Does God give you the Spirit because you follow the law? Does God work miracles among you because you follow the law? No, God gives you his Spirit and works miracles among you because you heard the message about Jesus and believed it.
God gives to you the gift of his Spirit. He also does powerful miracles among you. But he does not do these things because you obey the rules of his Law. No, he does them because you believed the message about Christ which you heard.
So then, does the one who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, do it by the works of the law? Or does he do it by your believing what you hear—
Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith—
Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith—
Does God give you the Spirit and work miracles among you ·because you follow [L by the works of] the law? ·No, he does these things [L …or] ·because you heard the Good News and believed it [by your believing what you heard; v. 2].
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it through the works of the Law, or by the hearing of faith preached?
Does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you through your own efforts or through believing what you heard?
Does God give you the Spirit and work miracles among you because you do what the Law requires or because you hear the gospel and believe it?
So then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law or by hearing with faith?
Does God give you the Spirit because you follow the law? No! Does God work miracles among you because you follow the law? No! God gives you his Spirit and works miracles among you because you heard the Good News and believed it.
Does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you because you do the actions of the Law or because you believe what you heard?
O you dear idiots of Galatia, who saw Jesus Christ the crucified so plainly, who has been casting a spell over you? I will ask you one simple question: did you receive the Spirit of God by trying to keep the Law or by believing the message of the Gospel? Surely you can’t be so idiotic as to think that a man begins his spiritual life in the Spirit and then completes it by reverting to outward observances? Has all your painful experience brought you nowhere? I simply cannot believe it of you! Does God, who gives you his Spirit and works miracles among you, do these things because you have obeyed the Law or because you have believed the Gospel? Ask yourselves that.
He therefore that gives unto you the Spirit and does works of power among you, does he do it by the works of the law or by the obedient ear of faith?
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?
Therefore does the one who gives you the Spirit and who works miracles among you do so by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
I ask you again, does God give you the power of the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you as a result of your trying to obey the Jewish laws? No, of course not. It is when you believe in Christ and fully trust him.
Answer this question: Does the God who lavishly provides you with his own presence, his Holy Spirit, working things in your lives you could never do for yourselves, does he do these things because of your strenuous moral striving or because you trust him to do them in you? Don’t these things happen among you just as they happened with Abraham? He believed God, and that act of belief was turned into a life that was right with God.
Does God give you the Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
So does the one who gives you the Spirit and works miracles among you do it by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
Does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you through your own efforts or through believing what you heard?
Does, then, the one who supplies the Spirit to you and works mighty deeds among you do so from works of the law or from faith in what you heard?
So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?
So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?
Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard?
Does God give you the Spirit and work miracles among you because you follow the law? No, he does these things because you heard the Good News and believed it.
Does God then give you the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law or by your believing what you heard?
So I ask you again, how does God give you his Spirit? How does he work miracles among you? Is it by doing what the law says? Or is it by believing what you have heard?
So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?
So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?
Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—
He gave you the Holy Spirit and did powerful works among you. Does He do it because you do what the Law says or because you hear and believe the truth?
I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.
He who ministered to you the Spirit and works miracles among you, does he do it through the deeds of the law, or by preaching of the faith?
Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?
Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?
Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?
Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law or by your believing what you heard?
The one who gives you the spirit and performs powerful deeds among you—does he do this through your performance of Torah, or through hearing and believing?
So then, Hashem who is supplying to you the Ruach HaKodesh and producing nifla’ot (miracles) among you, by what means does He do it, by chukim of the Torah or by the hearing of emunah?
He, therefore, who ministers to you the Spirit, and works miracles among you, does he do it through the works of the Law, or by the hearing of faith?
Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
So then, the One who gives you the Ruach and works miracles among you—does He do it because of your deeds based on Torah or your hearing based on trust and faithfulness?
You have experienced the Spirit He gave you in powerful ways. Miracle after miracle has occurred right before your eyes in this community, so tell me: did all this happen because you have kept certain provisions of God’s law, or was it because you heard the gospel and accepted it by faith?
He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and does miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
God gives you the Spirit. He does wonderful works among you. Does he do this because you obey the law? No, he does it because you heard the word of God and believed it.
[Therefore] He that giveth to you [the] Spirit, and worketh works of power in you, whether of [the] works of the law, or of hearing of belief [or of hearing of faith]?
He, therefore, who is supplying to you the Spirit, and working mighty acts among you -- by works of law or by the hearing of faith [is it]?
