And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation and of Egypt their glory.
And they shall be dismayed and confounded, because of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
Then they will be dismayed and ashamed because of Cush their hope and Egypt their boast.
And they shall be dismayed and confounded because of Ethiopia their hope and expectation and Egypt their glory and boast.
And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
Those who made Cush their hope and Egypt their boast will be dismayed and ashamed.
They will be shattered and shamed because of Cush their hope, and because of Egypt their glory.
They will be dismayed and ashamed because of Ethiopia their hope and Egypt their pride.
They will be confused and frustrated, because they depended on Ethiopia and bragged about Egypt.
And they shall be terrified and ashamed of Ethiopia their confidence, and of Egypt their boast.
And they shall be afraid, and ashamed of Ethiopia their hope, and of Egypt their glory.
Those who looked to Ethiopia for help will be shattered. Those who were amazed by Egypt’s glory will be ashamed.”
Anyone who trusted that Cush or Egypt would be strong enough to save them will be ashamed. They will be afraid.
They will be overwhelmed and ashamed because of Cush, their hope, and Egypt, their source of confidence.
Then they shall be dismayed and ashamed because of Cush their hope and of Egypt their boast.
Then they shall be dismayed and ashamed because of Cush their hope and of Egypt their boast.
People who ·looked to Cush for help [trusted/put hope in Cush] will be ·afraid [dismayed; disillusioned], and those who ·were amazed by [boasted/took pride in] Egypt’s glory will be shamed.
And they shall fear, and be ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
Then the people will be shattered and ashamed because Sudan was their hope and Egypt was their beauty.
Those who have put their trust in Ethiopia and have boasted about Egypt will be disillusioned, their hopes shattered.
Those who made Cush their hope and Egypt their boast will be dismayed and ashamed.
People who looked to Cush for help will be afraid. People who were amazed by Egypt’s glory will be shamed.
Then they will be dismayed and put to shame because of Cush, their hope, and Egypt, their jewel.
And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their hope and of Egypt their glory.
And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
Then they will be dismayed and ashamed because of Ethiopia their hope and Egypt their boast.
And they shall be dismayed, and they shall be ashamed because of Cush, their hope, and because of Egypt, their pride.
Then how dismayed the Philistines will be, who counted on “Ethiopia’s power” and their “glorious ally,” Egypt! And they will say, “If this can happen to Egypt, what chance have we?”
Then God said, “Just as my servant Isaiah has walked around town naked and barefooted for three years as a warning sign to Egypt and Ethiopia, so the king of Assyria is going to come and take the Egyptians as captives and the Ethiopians as exiles. He’ll take young and old alike and march them out of there naked and barefooted, exposed to mockery and jeers—the bared buttocks of Egypt on parade! Everyone who has put hope in Ethiopia and expected help from Egypt will be thrown into confusion. Everyone who lives along this coast will say, ‘Look at them! Naked and barefooted, shuffling off to exile! And we thought they were our best hope, that they’d rescue us from the king of Assyria. Now what’s going to happen to us? How are we going to get out of this?’”
Then they shall be dismayed and ashamed of Ethiopia their hope and Egypt their boast.
Then the people will be shattered and ashamed because Sudan was their hope and Egypt was their beauty.
They shall be dismayed and ashamed because of Ethiopia, their hope, and because of Egypt, their boast.
Then they will be terrified and ashamed because of Cush their hope and Egypt their pride.
Then they will be dismayed and ashamed because of Cush their hope and Egypt their boast.
Then they will be dismayed and ashamed of Ethiopia their hope and of Egypt their boast.
People who looked to Cush for help will be afraid, and those who were amazed by Egypt’s glory will be shamed.
Those who put their hope in Cush and took pride in Egypt will be afraid and embarrassed.
People trusted in Cush to help them. They bragged about what Egypt could do for them. But they will lose heart and be put to shame.
Those who trusted in Cush and boasted in Egypt will be dismayed and put to shame.
Those who trusted in Cush and boasted in Egypt will be dismayed and put to shame.
Then they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation and Egypt their glory.
Then they will be ashamed and troubled because of Cush their hope and Egypt their pride.
Then the Philistines will be thrown into panic, for they counted on the power of Ethiopia and boasted of their allies in Egypt!
And they shall be dismayed and confounded because of Ethiopia their hope and of Egypt their boast.
And they shall be dismayed and confounded because of Ethiopia their hope and of Egypt their boast.
And they shall be dismayed and confounded because of Ethiopia their hope and of Egypt their boast.
And they shall be dismayed and confounded because of Cush their hope and of Egypt their boast.
And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Kush their expectation, and of Mitzrayim their tiferet (glory, boast).
Then they shall be dismayed and confounded because of Ethiopia their hope and of Egypt their boast.
Then they shall be dismayed and confounded because of Ethiopia their hope and of Egypt their boast.
So they will be dismayed and ashamed, because they hoped in Ethiopia and boasted in Egypt.
They will be mortified and humiliated, for they depended on each other, confident that Egypt and Ethiopia could withstand Assyrian assault.
They will be dismayed and confounded, because of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
And they shall dread (And they all shall fear), and shall be ashamed of Ethiopia, their hope, and of Egypt, their glory.
and they have been affrighted and ashamed of Cush their confidence, and of Egypt their beauty,
