And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.
And it shall come to pass, when Moab presenteth himself, when he wearieth himself upon the high place, and shall come to his sanctuary to pray, that he shall not prevail.
So it will come to pass when Moab presents himself, When he wearies himself [worshiping] on his high place [of idolatry] And comes to his sanctuary [of Chemosh, god of Moab] to pray, That he will not prevail.
It shall be that when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself [worshiping] on the high place [of idolatry], he will come to his sanctuary [of Chemosh, god of Moab], but he will not prevail. [Then will he be ashamed of his god.]
¶ And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.
When Moab appears and tires himself out on the high place and comes to his sanctuary to pray, it will do him no good.
Even if Moab presents himself, and Moab wears himself out going to the shrine, and comes to his sanctuary to pray, he won’t prevail.
Even when Mo’av is seen growing weary of worshipping on the high places and entering their sanctuaries to pray, they will have accomplished nothing.
It's useless for Moab's people to wear themselves out by going to their altars to worship and pray.
And it shall come to pass, when Moab shall appear, shall weary himself on the high place, and enter into his sanctuary to pray, that he shall not prevail.
And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is wearied on his high places, that he shall go in to his sanctuaries to pray, and shall not prevail.
The people of Moab will go to their high places to worship. They will go to their temple to pray, but it will not help them.
Moab's people go to their altars and temples to pray for help from their gods. But they will only become tired. Their prayers will be useless.
When Moab presents himself on the high place, he only wears himself out. When he goes to his shrine to pray, he will accomplish nothing.
And when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself on the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.
And when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself on the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.
The people of Moab will ·go to their places of worship [L appear and grow weary at their high places] and will try to pray. But when they go to their temple to pray, they will not be able.
And when it shall appear that Moab shall be weary of his high places, then shall he come to his temple to pray, but he shall not prevail.
When the people of Moab appear at the worship site, they will only wear themselves out. They will come into the holy place to pray, but they won’t be able to.
The people of Moab wear themselves out going to their mountain shrines and to their temples to pray, but it will do them no good.
When Moab appears on the high place, when he tires himself out and comes to his sanctuary to pray, it will do him no good.
The people of Moab will go to their places of worship. They will try to pray. But when they go to their temple to pray, they will not be able.
When Moab appears, when he arrives upon the high place and comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.”
And it shall come to pass when it is seen that Moab is weary upon the high places that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray, but he shall be unable to.
And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.
And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.
So it will be when Moab appears, When he wearies himself upon his high place And comes to his sanctuary to pray, That he will not prevail.
And this shall happen: when Moab appears, when it is weary upon the high place and it comes to its sanctuary to pray, it will not prevail.
The people of Moab will pray in anguish to their idols at the tops of the hills, but it will do no good; they will cry to their gods in their idol temples, but none will come to save them.
We’ve heard—everyone’s heard!—of Moab’s pride, world-famous for pride— Arrogant, self-important, insufferable, full of hot air. So now let Moab lament for a change, with antiphonal mock-laments from the neighbors! What a shame! How terrible! No more fine fruitcakes and Kir-hareseth candies! All those lush Heshbon fields dried up, the rich Sibmah vineyards withered! Foreign thugs have crushed and torn out the famous grapevines That once reached all the way to Jazer, right to the edge of the desert, Ripped out the crops in every direction as far as the eye can see. I’ll join the weeping. I’ll weep right along with Jazer, weep for the Sibmah vineyards. And yes, Heshbon and Elealeh, I’ll mingle my tears with your tears! The joyful shouting at harvest is gone. Instead of song and celebration, dead silence. No more boisterous laughter in the orchards, no more hearty work songs in the vineyards. Instead of the bustle and sound of good work in the fields, silence—deathly and deadening silence. My heartstrings throb like harp strings for Moab, my soul in sympathy for sad Kir-heres. When Moab trudges to the shrine to pray, he wastes both time and energy. Going to the sanctuary and praying for relief is useless. Nothing ever happens.
When it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.
When the people of Moab appear at the worship site, they will only wear themselves out. They will come into the holy place to pray, but they won’t be able to.
When Moab wears himself out on the high places, and enters his sanctuary to pray, it shall avail him nothing.
So it will come about when Moab presents himself, When he tires himself upon his high place And comes to his sanctuary to pray, That he will not prevail.
So it will come about when Moab presents himself, When he wearies himself upon his high place And comes to his sanctuary to pray, That he will not prevail.
When the Moabites approach and exhaust themselves on the high places, they will flock to their sanctuaries to pray, but it will avail them nothing.
The people of Moab will go to their places of worship and will try to pray. But when they go to their temple to pray, they will not be able.
When the Moabites plead with all their might at their high places, and enter their temples to pray, their prayers will be ineffective.
Moab’s people go to their high place to pray. But all they do is wear themselves out. Their god Chemosh can’t help them at all.
When Moab appears at her high place, she only wears herself out; when she goes to her shrine to pray, it is to no avail.
When Moab appears at her high place, she only wears herself out; when she goes to her shrine to pray, it is to no avail.
And it shall come to pass, When it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, That he will come to his sanctuary to pray; But he will not prevail.
When Moab goes to his high place, he will only become tired. When he goes to his holy place to pray, it will do him no good.
The people of Moab will worship at their pagan shrines, but it will do them no good. They will cry to the gods in their temples, but no one will be able to save them.
When Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself upon the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.
When Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself upon the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.
When Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself upon the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.
When Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself upon the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.
And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moav is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his mikdash (sanctuary) to pray; but he shall not prevail.
And when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself upon the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.
And when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself upon the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.
So it will be, when Moab is weary upon the high place and comes to his sanctuary to pray, it will do him no good.
When the people of Moab present themselves to their gods, when they weary themselves with frequent journeys to their high places, when they enter their sanctuary to pray, then they will find none of their gods are able to help them.
It will happen that when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself on the high place, and comes to his sanctuary to pray, that he will not prevail.
And it shall be, when it shall appear, that Moab hath travailed on his (high) places, it shall enter to his holy things, that it beseech, and it shall not be worth(y). (And it shall be, when it is seen that Moab hath laboured, or hath wearied himself, at his hill shrines, then he shall enter into his holy place/s, so that he can beseech his gods, but he shall gain nothing.)
And it hath come to pass, when it hath been seen, That weary hath been Moab on the high place, And he hath come unto his sanctuary to pray, And is not able.
