“Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! Add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.
Ho Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! add ye year to year; let the feasts come round:
Woe (judgment is coming) to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David [once] camped! Add yet another year; let the feasts run their course [but only one year more].
Woe to Ariel [Jerusalem], to Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add yet another year; let the feasts run their round [but only one year more].
Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.
Woe to Ariel, Ariel, the city where David camped! Continue year after year; let the festivals recur.
Oh, Ariel, Ariel, town where David encamped! Year by year, let the festivals come around—
Woe to Ari’el [fireplace on God’s altar, lion of God] — Ari’el, the city where David encamped! Celebrate the feasts for a few more years,
Jerusalem, city of David, the place of my altar, you are in for trouble! Celebrate your festivals year after year.
Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city of David's encampment! Add ye year to year; let the feasts come round.
Woe to Ariel, to Ariel the city which David took: year is added to year: the solemnities are at an end.
God says, “Look at Ariel, the city where David camped. Keep on having your festivals, year after year.
It will be very bad for Ariel, the city where David lived. Continue to have your usual feasts every year, but trouble will come!
Woe to Ariel! Ariel, the city where David made his camp. Add one year to another. Let your cycle of festivals roll on.
Ah, Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the feasts run their round.
Ah, Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the feasts run their round.
·How terrible it will be for [L Woe to] you, Ariel [C another name for Jerusalem, perhaps meaning either “lion” or “altar hearth”; v. 2], the city where David ·camped [lived; settled; or besieged; C David first conquered, then lived in the city; 2 Sam. 5:6–9]. Your festivals have continued year after year.
1 A prophecy against Jerusalem. 13 The vengeance of God on them that follow the traditions of men. Ah altar, altar of the city that David dwelt in: add year unto year: let them kill lambs.
How horrible it will be for you Ariel, Ariel, the city where David camped. Let year after year go by. Let your annual festivals go on.
God's altar, Jerusalem itself, is doomed! The city where David camped is doomed! Let another year or two come and go, with its feasts and festivals,
Woe to Ariel, Ariel, the city where David camped! Continue year after year; let the festivals recur.
How terrible it will be for you, Jerusalem. You are the city where David camped. Her festivals have continued year after year.
“How terrible it will be for you, Aruel, Aruel, the city where David encamped! Year after year, let your festivals run their cycle.
¶ Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye one year to another; the lambs shall cease.
Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.
Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.
Woe, O Ariel, Ariel the city where David once camped! Add year to year, observe your feasts on schedule.
Ah! Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year, let festivals recur.
Woe to Jerusalem, the city of David. Year after year you make your many offerings,
Doom, Ariel, Ariel, the city where David set camp! Let the years add up, let the festivals run their cycles, But I’m not letting up on Jerusalem. The moaning and groaning will continue. Jerusalem to me is an Ariel. Like David, I’ll set up camp against you. I’ll set siege, build towers, bring in siege engines, build siege ramps. Driven into the ground, you’ll speak, you’ll mumble words from the dirt— Your voice from the ground, like the muttering of a ghost. Your speech will whisper from the dust.
Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David lived! Add year to year, observe your feasts on schedule.
How horrible it will be for you Ariel, Ariel, the city where David camped. Let year after year go by. Let your annual festivals go on.
Ah! Ariel, Ariel, city where David encamped! Let year follow year, and feast follow feast,
Woe, Ariel, Ariel the city where David once camped! Add year to year, keep your feasts on schedule.
Woe, O Ariel, Ariel the city where David once camped! Add year to year, observe your feasts on schedule.
Woe to Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped. Year after year will pass, and the festivals will be celebrated annually.
How terrible it will be for you, Jerusalem, the city where David camped. Your festivals have continued year after year.
Ariel is as good as dead— Ariel, the town David besieged! Keep observing your annual rituals; celebrate your festivals on schedule.
Jerusalem, how terrible it will be for you! Ariel, you are the city where David made his home. The years will come and go. Keep on celebrating your regular feasts.
Woe to you, Ariel, Ariel, the city where David settled! Add year to year and let your cycle of festivals go on.
Woe to you, Ariel, Ariel, the city where David settled! Add year to year and let your cycle of festivals go on.
“Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! Add year to year; Let feasts come around.
It is bad for Ariel, Ariel the city where David once set up his tents! Add year to year. Keep your special suppers at the right times.
“What sorrow awaits Ariel, the City of David. Year after year you celebrate your feasts.
Ah, Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the festivals run their round.
Ah, Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the festivals run their round.
Ah, Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the festivals run their round.
Woe to Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the festivals run their round.
Hoy (woe, doom) to Ariel [i.e., Yerushalayim], to Ariel, the city where Dovid dwelt! Add ye shanah to shanah; let chaggim (feasts) cycle around.
Ho Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the feasts run their round.
Ho Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the feasts run their round.
Oy, Ariel, Ariel! City where David camped. Year to year again—festivals in a cycle.
O Ariel, woe to you Ariel, our Jerusalem, where David set up his camp to stay. Go ahead, go on with your fruitless festivals, your calendar of events, year in and year out.
Woe to Ariel! Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the feasts come around;
Woe! [to] Ariel, Ariel, the city which David overcame; year is added to year, solemnities be passed (the feasts have come and gone).
Wo [to] Ariel, Ariel, The city of the encampment of David! Add year to year, let festivals go round.
