James 3:14
Print
But if ye have bitter envy and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
But if ye have bitter jealousy and faction in your heart, glory not and lie not against the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not be arrogant, and [as a result] be in defiance of the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry, selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not pride yourselves on it and thus be in defiance of and false to the Truth.
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and deny the truth.
However, if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, then stop bragging and living in ways that deny the truth.
But if you harbor in your hearts bitter jealousy and selfish ambition, don’t boast and attack the truth with lies!
But if your heart is full of bitter jealousy and selfishness, don't brag or lie to cover up the truth.
but if ye have bitter emulation and strife in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish-interest in your heart, do not be vaunting and lying against the truth.
But if you have bitter zeal, and there be contentions in your hearts; glory not, and be not liars against the truth.
If you are selfish and have bitter jealousy in your hearts, you have no reason to boast. Your boasting is a lie that hides the truth.
But if you live in a bad way, do not think that you are wise. Are you jealous of other people so that you hate them? Do you want to make yourself important? If you live like that, do not say that you are great and wise. You are not saying what is true.
But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast and lie, contrary to the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.
But if you have bitter ·jealousy [or envy] and ·are selfish [have selfish ambition] in your hearts, do not ·brag [boast; Jer. 9:23–24]. Your ·bragging [boasting] is a lie ·that hides [that denies; L against] the truth [or Don’t cover up the truth with bragging or lying].
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, rejoice not, neither be liars against the truth.
But if you are bitterly jealous and filled with self-centered ambition, don’t brag. Don’t say that you are wise when it isn’t true.
But if in your heart you are jealous, bitter, and selfish, don't sin against the truth by boasting of your wisdom.
But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t brag and deny the truth.
But if you are selfish and have bitter jealousy in your hearts, you have no reason to brag. Your bragging is a lie that hides the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and rivalry in your hearts, stop boasting and slandering the truth.
Are there some wise and understanding men among you? Then your lives will be an example of the humility that is born of true wisdom. But if your heart is full of rivalry and bitter jealousy, then do not boast of your wisdom—don’t deny the truth that you must recognise in your inmost heart. You may acquire a certain superficial wisdom, but it does not come from God—it comes from this world, from your own lower nature, even from the devil. For wherever you find jealousy and rivalry you also find disharmony and all other kinds of evil.
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, boast not and do not be liars against the truth.
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and tell lies against the truth.
And by all means don’t brag about being wise and good if you are bitter and jealous and selfish; that is the worst sort of lie.
Do you want to be counted wise, to build a reputation for wisdom? Here’s what you do: Live well, live wisely, live humbly. It’s the way you live, not the way you talk, that counts. Mean-spirited ambition isn’t wisdom. Boasting that you are wise isn’t wisdom. Twisting the truth to make yourselves sound wise isn’t wisdom. It’s the furthest thing from wisdom—it’s animal cunning, devilish plotting. Whenever you’re trying to look better than others or get the better of others, things fall apart and everyone ends up at the others’ throats.
But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, do not boast and do not lie against the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in · your heart, do not be arrogant and tell lies against the truth.
But if you are bitterly jealous and filled with self-centered ambition, don’t brag. Don’t say that you are wise when it isn’t true.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.
But if your hearts are filled with bitter envy and selfish ambition, do not be boastful in defiance of the truth.
But if you are selfish and have bitter jealousy in your hearts, do not brag. Your bragging is a lie that hides the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfishness in your hearts, do not boast and tell lies against the truth.
But suppose your hearts are jealous and bitter. Suppose you are concerned only about getting ahead. Then don’t brag about it. And don’t say no to the truth.
But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.
But if you harbour bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.
But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.
If you have jealousy in your heart and fight to have many things, do not be proud of it. Do not lie against the truth.
But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying.
But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, do not be pleased, neither be liars against the truth.
But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not be boastful and false to the truth.
But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not be boastful and false to the truth.
But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not be boastful and false to the truth.
But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not be arrogant and lie about the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and contention in your hearts, don’t boast, and tell lies against the truth.
But if bitter kina (jealousy) you have and anochiyut (selfishness) in your levavot, do not boast and speak sheker against HaEmes.
But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, do not boast. And do not be liars against the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast and lie against the truth.
If your heart is one that bleeds dark streams of jealousy and selfishness, do not be so proud that you ignore your depraved state.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and don’t lie against the truth.
Are you a person who is very jealous? In your hearts you want to be better than others? Then stop being proud of yourself. Do not say what is not true.
That if ye have bitter envy, and strivings be in your hearts, do not ye have glory [That if ye have bitter zeal, or envy, and strives be in your hearts, do not ye glory], and be liars against the truth.
and if bitter zeal ye have, and rivalry in your heart, glory not, nor lie against the truth;
