The sound of a report! Behold, [the invader] comes— A great commotion from the country of the north (Babylonia)— To make the cities of Judah A desolation, a haunt and dwelling place of jackals.

Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
Listen! A noise—it is coming— a great commotion from the land to the north. The cities of Judah will be made desolate, a jackals’ den.
Listen! The sound is getting louder, a mighty uproar from the land of the north; it will reduce the towns of Judah to ruins, a den for wild dogs.
Listen! A noise! It’s coming closer! A great uproar from the land to the north, to make the cities of Y’hudah desolate, a place for jackals to live.

Listen! We have heard the news! There is the noise of a great army in the north. It is marching towards us! It is coming to attack the towns of Judah. It will make them heaps of stones. Only wild animals will live in them.
Listen! I hear noise— a great commotion from a land in the north. It will make the cities of Judah desolate. It will make them a haunt for jackals.
