They have lied about and denied the Lord By saying, “It is not He [who speaks through His prophets]; Misfortune and evil shall not come on us, Nor will we see war or famine.

Their prophets lie and say, “The Lord won't punish us. We will have peace and plenty of food.”
They have denied Jehovah, and say, He is not; and evil shall not come upon us, nor shall we see sword nor famine;

They have told lies about the Lord. They have said, “He will not punish us! No trouble will come to us. There will be no war. There will be no famine.
They have lied about the Lord. They say, “He is nothing. No disaster will come upon us. We will not see sword or famine.
They have spoken falsely of the Lord and have said, ‘He will do nothing; no disaster will come upon us, nor shall we see sword or famine.

They lie about the Lord and say, “He doesn’t exist! Nothing bad will happen to us. We won’t experience war or famine.
The Lord's people have denied him and have said, “He won't really do anything. We won't have hard times; we won't have war or famine.”
They have contradicted the Lord and insisted, “It won’t happen. Harm won’t come to us; we won’t see sword or famine.”
Those people have lied about the Lord. They have said, “The Lord will not do anything to us! Nothing bad will happen to us. We will never see war or hunger.
