Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people, because of them that dwell in a far country: “Is not the Lord in Zion? Is not her King in her?” “Why have they provoked Me to anger with their graven images and with strange vanities?”
Behold, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people from a land that is very far off: Is not Jehovah in Zion? is not her King in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with foreign vanities?
Behold, [hear the sound of] the cry of the daughter of my people from the distant land [of Babylon]: “Is not the Lord in Zion? Is not her King within her?” [But the Lord answers] “Why have they provoked Me to anger with their carved images and with foreign idols?”
Behold [says the prophet, listen to the voice of] the cry of the daughter of my people [for help] because of those who dwell in a far country: Is not the Lord in Zion? Is not her King in her? [But the Lord answers] Why have they provoked Me to anger with their carved images and with foreign idols?
Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is not the Lord in Zion? is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities?
Listen—the cry of my dear people from a faraway land, “Is the Lord no longer in Zion, her King not within her?” Why have they angered me with their carved images, with their worthless foreign idols?
Listen to the weeping of my people all across the land: “Isn’t the Lord in Zion? Is her king no longer there?” Why then did they anger me with their images, with pointless foreign gods?
Listen to my people’s cry of distress out of a distant land: “Is Adonai no longer in Tziyon? Is her king no longer there?” “Why do they provoke me with their idols and their futile foreign gods?”
In a foreign land my people are crying. Listen! You'll hear them say, “Has the Lord deserted Zion? Is he no longer its king?” I hear the Lord reply, “Why did you make me angry by worshiping useless idols?”
Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people, from a very far country: Is not Jehovah in Zion? Is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, with foreign vanities?
Behold the voice of the daughter my people from a far country: Is not the Lord in Sion, or is not her king in her? why then have they provoked me to wrath with their idols, and strange vanities?
Listen to my people. Everywhere in this country, people are crying for help. They say, “Is the Lord still at Zion? Is Zion’s King still there?” But God says, “The people of Judah worshiped their worthless foreign idols. That made me very angry! Why did they do that?”
Listen to my dear people! They are calling out for help everywhere in the land. They are saying, “Is the Lord still with us in Zion? Is he still there to rule us as our King?” ’ The Lord replies, ‘They worship images of false gods. and useless foreign idols. That has made me very angry.’
I hear the cry of my dear people from a distant land: “Is the Lord not in Zion? Is her King not there?” Why have they provoked my anger with their carved images, with their worthless foreign idols?
Behold, the cry of the daughter of my people from the length and breadth of the land: “Is the Lord not in Zion? Is her King not in her?” “Why have they provoked me to anger with their carved images and with their foreign idols?”
Behold, the cry of the daughter of my people from the length and breadth of the land: “Is the Lord not in Zion? Is her King not in her?” “Why have they provoked me to anger with their carved images and with their foreign idols?”
Listen to the ·sound [L cry of distress] of ·my people [L the daughter of my people]. They cry from a faraway land: “Isn’t the Lord still in ·Jerusalem [L Zion; C the location of the Temple]? Isn’t ·Jerusalem’s [L its] king still there?” But God says, “Why did the people make me angry ·by worshiping idols [L with their images], useless foreign idols?”
Behold, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people for fear of them of a far country, Is not the Lord in Zion? is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with the vanities of a strange god?
The cry from my dear people comes from a distant land: “Isn’t the Lord in Zion? Isn’t Zion’s king still there?” They make me furious with their idols, with their foreign gods.
Listen! Throughout the land I hear my people crying out, “Is the Lord no longer in Zion? Is Zion's king no longer there?” The Lord, their king, replies, “Why have you made me angry by worshiping your idols and by bowing down to your useless foreign gods?”
Listen—the cry of my dear people from a far away land, “Is the Lord no longer in Zion, her King not within her?” Why have they provoked me to anger with their carved images, with their worthless foreign idols?
Listen to my people! They are crying for help from a faraway land. They say, “Is the Lord still in Jerusalem? Is Jerusalem’s king still there?” But God says, “Why did the people make me angry by worshiping idols? They worshiped their useless foreign idols.”
Listen! My people cry from a distant land: “Is the Lord no longer in Zion? Is her king no longer there?” “Why did they provoke me to anger with their images, with their worthless foreign gods?”
Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people that comes from a far country: Is not the LORD in Zion? Is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images and with vanities of a strange god?

Look, the sound of the cry for help of the daughter of my people from a distant land, ‘Is Yahweh not in Zion? Is her king not in her?’ Why have they provoked me to anger with their images, with idols of a foreign land?”
Listen to the weeping of my people all across the land. “Where is the Lord?” they ask. “Has God deserted us?” “Oh, why have they angered me with their carved idols and strange evil rites?” the Lord replies.
I drown in grief. I’m heartsick. Oh, listen! Please listen! It’s the cry of my dear people reverberating through the country. Is God no longer in Zion? Has the King gone away? Can you tell me why they flaunt their plaything-gods, their silly, imported no-gods before me? The crops are in, the summer is over, but for us nothing’s changed. We’re still waiting to be rescued. For my dear broken people, I’m heartbroken. I weep, seized by grief. Are there no healing ointments in Gilead? Isn’t there a doctor in the house? So why can’t something be done to heal and save my dear, dear people? * * *

Listen! the cry of the daughter of my people, far and wide in the land! “Is the Lord no longer in Zion, is her King no longer in her midst?” Why do they provoke me with their idols, with their foreign nonentities?
Behold, listen! The cry of the daughter of my people from a distant land: “Is the Lord not in Zion? Is her King not within her?” “Why have they provoked Me with their carved images, with foreign idols?”

Listen to the cry of distress from my people in a distant land. “Is the Lord no longer in Zion? Is her king no longer in their midst?” (Why do they provoke me with their idols and with their foreign gods?)
Listen to the sound of my people. They cry from a faraway land: “Isn’t the Lord still in Jerusalem? Isn’t Jerusalem’s king still there?” But God says, “Why did the people make me angry by worshiping idols, useless foreign idols?”
I hear my dear people crying out throughout the length and breadth of the land. They are crying, ‘Is the Lord no longer in Zion? Is her divine King no longer there?’” The Lord answers, “Why then do they provoke me to anger with their images, with their worthless foreign idols?
Listen to the cries of my people from a land far away. They cry out, “Isn’t the Lord in Zion? Isn’t its King there anymore?” The Lord says, “Why have they made me so angry by worshiping their wooden gods? Why have they made me angry with their worthless statues of gods from other lands?”
Listen to the cry of my people from a land far away: “Is the Lord not in Zion? Is her King no longer there?” “Why have they aroused my anger with their images, with their worthless foreign idols?”
Listen to the cry of my people from a land far away: ‘Is the Lord not in Zion? Is her King no longer there?’ ‘Why have they aroused my anger with their images, with their worthless foreign idols?’

Listen! It is the cry of my people from a far away land: “Is the Lord not in Zion? Is her King not in her?” “Why have they made Me angry with their objects of worship, and with strange gods?”
Listen to the weeping of my people; it can be heard all across the land. “Has the Lord abandoned Jerusalem?” the people ask. “Is her King no longer there?” “Oh, why have they provoked my anger with their carved idols and their worthless foreign gods?” says the Lord.
Hark, the cry of my poor people from far and wide in the land: ‘Is the Lord not in Zion? Is her King not in her?’ (‘Why have they provoked me to anger with their images, with their foreign idols?’)

Listen, my Lord, don’t You hear the daughter of our people weeping, crying out to You from exile? “Is the Eternal no longer in Zion? Does her King no longer reside there?” Eternal One: But Jeremiah, why have they provoked Me with their dark and evil practices? Why do they worship these handcrafted idols, these worthless gods?
Behold, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people from a land that is very far off: “Isn’t Yahweh in Zion? Isn’t her King in her?” “Why have they provoked me to anger with their engraved images, and with foreign idols?”
And lo! the voice of cry of the daughter of my people cometh from a far land. Whether the Lord is not in Zion, either the king thereof is not therein? Why therefore stirred they me to wrathfulness by their graven images, and by alien vanities? (And lo! the sound of the cry of the daughter of my people cometh from a far land. Is the Lord not in Zion, or is its King not there? And so why have they stirred me to anger with their carved images, and their strange vanities?/and their useless foreign gods?)
Lo, the voice of a cry of the daughter of my people from a land afar off, Is Jehovah not in Zion? is her king not in her? Wherefore have they provoked Me with their graven images, With the vanities of a foreigner?
