How can it be quiet, seeing the Lord hath given it a charge against Ashkelon and against the seashore? There hath He appointed it.
How canst thou be quiet, seeing Jehovah hath given thee a charge? Against Ashkelon, and against the sea-shore, there hath he appointed it.
“How can His sword be quiet When the Lord has given it an order? Against Ashkelon and against the [whole Philistine] seashore There He has assigned it.”
How can it [the sword of the Lord] be quiet when the Lord has given it an assignment to discharge? Against Ashkelon and against the [whole Philistine] seashore He has appointed it.
How can it be quiet, seeing the Lord hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.
How can it rest when the Lord has given it a command? He has assigned it against Ashkelon and the shore of the sea.
How can you be silent when the Lord has directed you to attack Ashkelon and the coast line?
But how can you be still? For Adonai has given it orders against Ashkelon, against the seacoast; he has assigned it its task there.
But how can my sword rest, when I have commanded it to attack Ashkelon and the seacoast?
How shouldest thou be quiet?—For Jehovah hath given it a charge: against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore, there hath he appointed it.
How shall it be quiet, when the Lord hath given it a charge against Ascalon, and against the countries thereof by the sea side, and there hath made an appointment for it?
But how can the sword of the Lord rest? The Lord gave it a command. He commanded it to attack the city of Ashkelon and the seacoast.”
But the Lord has commanded his sword to kill. So it cannot rest! The Lord has commanded his sword to attack Ashkelon and the people who live on the coast of the sea.’
How can you rest since the Lord has commanded this? Against Ashkelon and against the shore of the sea, he has assigned the sword.
How can it be quiet when the Lord has given it a charge? Against Ashkelon and against the seashore he has appointed it.”

But how can his sword rest when the Lord has given it a command? He has ·ordered [assigned] it to attack Ashkelon and the seacoast.”
How can it cease, seeing the Lord hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea bank? even there hath he appointed it.
How can the sword of the Lord rest? The Lord has ordered it to attack Ashkelon and the coast. He has put it there.
But how can it rest, when I have given it work to do? I have commanded it to attack Ashkelon and the people who live on the coast.”
How can it rest when the Lord has given it a command? He has assigned it against Ashkelon and the shore of the sea.
But how can the sword of the Lord rest? The Lord gave it a command. The Lord has ordered it to attack the city of Ashkelon and the seacoast.”
How can it be quiet, when the Lord has ordered disaster to come to Ashkelon and the seashore? That’s where he has assigned it.”
How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD has given it a charge against Ashkelon and against the sea shore? there has he appointed it.
How can it be quiet, seeing the Lord hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.

How can it be quiet? Yahweh has given it a command; Against Ashkelon and against the seacoast— There He has assigned it.”

But how can it be still when the Lord has sent it on an errand? For the city of Ashkelon and those living along the sea must be destroyed.
“But how can it quit when I, God, command the action? I’ve ordered it to cut down Ashkelon and the seacoast.”
How can it be quiet, seeing the Lord has given it a charge against Ashkelon and against the sea shore? There He has appointed it.
How can the sword of Yahweh rest? Yahweh has ordered it to attack Ashkelon and the coast. He has put it there.
How can it find rest when the Lord has commanded it? Against Ashkelon and the seacoast, there he has appointed it.
How can it be quiet, When the Lord has given it an order? Against Ashkelon and against the sea shore— There He has summoned it.”

But how can you be at rest when the Lord has given you an order, when he has commanded you to subdue Ashkelon and the seacoast?
But how can his sword rest when the Lord has given it a command? He has ordered it to attack Ashkelon and the seacoast.”
But how can it rest when I, the Lord, have given it orders? I have ordered it to attack the people of Ashkelon and the seacoast.”
