“How Sheshach is taken! And how the praise of the whole earth is surprised! How Babylon has become an astonishment among the nations!
How is Sheshach taken! and the praise of the whole earth seized! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!
“How Sheshak (Babylon) has been captured, And the praise of the whole earth been seized! How Babylon has become an astonishing desolation and an object of horror among the nations!
How Sheshach [Babylon] is taken! And the praise of the whole earth is surprised and seized! How Babylon has become an astonishing desolation and a horror among the nations!
How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!
How Sheshak has been captured, the praise of the whole earth seized. What a horror Babylon has become among the nations!
How Sheshach has been defeated, the pride of the whole earth taken captive! How Babylon has become a wasteland among the nations!
Sheshakh has been captured, the pride of the whole earth seized! Bavel has become an object of horror throughout the nations!
All nations now praise Babylon, but when it is captured, those same nations will be horrified.
How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth seized! How is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!
How is Sesach taken, and the renowned one of all the earth surprised? How is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations?
“Sheshach will be defeated. The best and proudest country of the whole earth will be taken captive. People from other nations will look at Babylon, and what they see will make them afraid.
‘Now an enemy will take power over Babylon! Everyone in the world praised it as a great nation. But now all the nations will see that it is a disgusting place.
How Sheshak is captured! The pride of the whole earth is seized! Babylon has become an object of horror among the nations.
“How Babylon is taken, the praise of the whole earth seized! How Babylon has become a horror among the nations!

“Sheshach has been captured. Babylon, the city that the whole world praised, has been taken captive.
The Lord says about Babylon: “The city that the whole world praised has been captured! What a horrifying sight Babylon has become to the nations!
How Sheshach has been captured, the praise of the whole earth seized. What a horror Babylon has become among the nations!
“How Babylon will be defeated! The pride of the whole earth will be taken captive. People from other nations will be shocked at what happened to Babylon. And the things they see will make them afraid.
“How Sheshak will be captured, and the prince of all the earth seized! How Babylon will become an object of horror among the nations!
How is Sheshach a prey! and how is she who was the praise of the whole earth taken! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the Gentiles!

How Babylon is fallen—great Babylon, lauded by all the earth! The world can scarcely believe its eyes at Babylon’s fall!
“Babylon is finished— the pride of the whole earth is flat on her face. What a comedown for Babylon, to end up inglorious in the sewer! Babylon drowned in chaos, battered by waves of enemy soldiers. Her towns stink with decay and rot, the land empty and bare and sterile. No one lives in these towns anymore. Travelers give them a wide berth. I’ll bring doom on the glutton god-Bel in Babylon. I’ll make him vomit up all he gulped down. No more visitors stream into this place, admiring and gawking at the wonders of Babylon. The wonders of Babylon are no more. Run for your lives, my dear people! Run, and don’t look back! Get out of this place while you can, this place torched by God’s raging anger. Don’t lose hope. Don’t ever give up when the rumors pour in hot and heavy. One year it’s this, the next year it’s that— rumors of violence, rumors of war. Trust me, the time is coming when I’ll put the no-gods of Babylon in their place. I’ll show up the whole country as a sickening fraud, with dead bodies strewn all over the place. Heaven and earth, angels and people, will throw a victory party over Babylon When the avenging armies from the north descend on her.” God’s Decree!

Babylon has been seized and conquered, she who was the pride of the entire world. What an object of horror has Babylon become among the nations.
“How Babylon has been defeated! The pride of the whole earth has been taken captive. People from other nations are shocked at what happened to Babylon, and the things they see make them afraid.
“See how Babylon has been captured! See how the pride of the whole earth has been taken! See what an object of horror Babylon has become among the nations!
“Babylon will be captured! The whole earth was very proud of it. But it will be taken over by others! It will be a deserted place among the nations.
“How Sheshak will be captured, the boast of the whole earth seized! How desolate Babylon will be among the nations!
