For now Thou numberest my steps; dost Thou not watch over my sin?

“But now You number [each of] my steps; You do not observe nor take note of my sin.
But now You number each of my steps and take note of my every sin.
For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
For then you would count my steps but would not take note of my sin.
Though you now number my steps, you would not keep a record of my sin.
Whereas now you count each step of mine, then you will not keep watch for my sin.
You would take care of me, but not count my sins—
For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
Thou indeed hast numbered my steps, but spare my sins.
You would still watch every step I take, but you would not remember my sins.
You would watch me carefully, but you would not make a note of my sins.
Now you count my steps, but then you will no longer keep track of my sin.
For then you would number my steps; you would not keep watch over my sin;
For then you would number my steps; you would not keep watch over my sin;
·Then [or Now] you ·will count [count] my steps [C meaning God would focus negatively on Job’s sin], but you ·will [or would] not keep track of my sin [C in a hypothetical future].
But now thou numberest my steps, and doest not delay my sins.
Though now you count my steps, you will not keep ⌞a record of⌟ my sins.
Then you will watch every step I take, but you will not keep track of my sins.
For then You would count my steps but would not take note of my sin.
Then you will count my steps. But you will not keep track of my sin.
Then you’ll certainly count every step I took, but you won’t keep an inventory of my sin.
¶ For now thou dost number my steps; thou dost not open up my sin.
For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?

For now You number my steps, You do not keep watch over my sin.
For then you would count my steps, but you would not keep watch over my sin.
But now, instead, you give me so few steps upon the stage of life and notice every mistake I make.
“We’re all adrift in the same boat: too few days, too many troubles. We spring up like wildflowers in the desert and then wilt, transient as the shadow of a cloud. Do you occupy your time with such fragile wisps? Why even bother hauling me into court? There’s nothing much to us to start with; how do you expect us to amount to anything? Mortals have a limited life span. You’ve already decided how long we’ll live— you set the boundary and no one can cross it. So why not give us a break? Ease up! Even ditchdiggers get occasional days off. For a tree there is always hope. Chop it down and it still has a chance— its roots can put out fresh sprouts. Even if its roots are old and gnarled, its stump long dormant, At the first whiff of water it comes to life, buds and grows like a sapling. But men and women? They die and stay dead. They breathe their last, and that’s it. Like lakes and rivers that have dried up, parched reminders of what once was, So mortals lie down and never get up, never wake up again—never. Why don’t you just bury me alive, get me out of the way until your anger cools? But don’t leave me there! Set a date when you’ll see me again. If we humans die, will we live again? That’s my question. All through these difficult days I keep hoping, waiting for the final change—for resurrection! Homesick with longing for the creature you made, you’ll call—and I’ll answer! You’ll watch over every step I take, but you won’t keep track of my missteps. My sins will be stuffed in a sack and thrown into the sea—sunk in deep ocean.
For now You number my steps; do You not observe my sin?
Though now you count my steps, you will not keep a record of my sins.
Surely then you would count my steps, and not keep watch for sin in me.
For now You number my steps, You do not observe my sin.

You would count my every step but not watch for any evidence of sin in me.
Then you will count my steps, but you will not keep track of my sin.
“Surely now you count my steps; then you would not mark my sin.
Then you will count every step I take. But you won’t keep track of my sin.
Surely then you will count my steps but not keep track of my sin.
Surely then you will count my steps but not keep track of my sin.
For now You number my steps, But do not watch over my sin.
For now You number my steps. You do not write down my sin.
For then you would guard my steps, instead of watching for my sins.
For then you would not number my steps, you would not keep watch over my sin;
For then you would not number my steps, you would not keep watch over my sin;
For then you would not number my steps, you would not keep watch over my sin;
For then you would not number my steps; you would not keep watch over my sin;
For now Thou countest my steps. Dost Thou not watch over my chattat?

For then You would still count each of my steps but not focus on my faults.
