How thy garments are warm, When the earth is still by reason of the south wind?
You whose garments are hot, When He quiets the earth [in sultry summer] with the [oppressive] south wind?
[Or] why your garments are hot when He quiets the earth [in sultry summer] with the [oppressive] south wind?
How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
You whose clothes get hot when the south wind brings calm to the land,
you whose clothes are hot when earth is calmed by the south wind?
“You, sweltering in your clothing as the earth lies still under a sultry south wind,
You almost melt in the heat of fierce desert winds when the sky is like brass.
How thy garments become warm when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
Are not thy garments hot, when the south wind blows upon the earth?
All you know is that you sweat, your clothes stick to you, and all is still and quiet when the heat wave comes from the south.
When the hot wind blows from the south, nothing moves on the earth. Your body is too hot in the clothes that you wear.
You, whose clothing is too hot for you when the land rests quietly because of the hot south wind,
you whose garments are hot when the earth is still because of the south wind?
you whose garments are hot when the earth is still because of the south wind?
You ·suffer [L swelter] in your clothes when the land is silenced by the hot, south wind.
Or how thy clothes are warm, when he maketh the earth quiet through the South wind?
you whose clothes are hot and sweaty, when the earth is calm under a south wind?
No, you can only suffer in the heat when the south wind oppresses the land.
You whose clothes get hot when the south wind brings calm to the land,
You suffer in your clothes when the land is made quiet by the hot, south wind.
you whose garments are hot, even though the land is cooled by a south wind?
How thy garments are warm, when he quiets the earth by the south wind?
How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
You whose garments are hot, When the land is quiet because of the south wind?
You whose garments are hot, when the earth is being still because of the south wind,
Do you understand the balancing of the clouds with wonderful perfection and skill? Do you know why you become warm when the south wind is blowing and everything is still?
“Job, are you listening? Have you noticed all this? Stop in your tracks! Take in God’s miracle-wonders! Do you have any idea how God does it all, how he makes bright lightning from dark storms, How he piles up the cumulus clouds— all these miracle-wonders of a perfect Mind? Why, you don’t even know how to keep cool on a sweltering hot day, So how could you even dream of making a dent in that hot-tin-roof sky?
How your garments are warm, when He quiets the earth by the south wind?

You, who swelter in your clothes when calm lies over the land from the south,
You whose garments are hot When the land is still because of the south wind?

You suffer in your clothes when the land is silenced by the hot, south wind.

Even your clothes are too hot for you when the land lies quiet under the south wind.

Why are your garments hot, When He quiets the earth by the south wind?
Do you know why you are hot in your clothes when the land becomes quiet because of the south wind?
When you are sweltering in your clothes and the south wind dies down and everything is still,
you whose garments are hot when the earth is still because of the south wind?

You, who feel the wind of His voice even now, are the same one whose clothes are hot to the touch when God makes the land go still beneath the south wind.

Whether thy clothes be not hot, when the earth is blown with the south (wind)?
How thy garments [are] warm, In the quieting of the earth from the south?
